Manawatu was a big learning weekend for us with mainly good results throughout the weekend, both karts were on pace since Friday morning and we managed to qualify on p2 in dvs and p3 in rotax. The heats went real well in both classes getting front row grids for the pre final i had a bad start in both classes, in dvs I dropped right back to last off the start and made my way back up to 4th and in rotax I went back to 7th and came up to 3rd.

with the points I built up from the heats and the alright finishes in the pre finals I was on the front row again in the final which I got another average start in dvs dropping back to 4th but not really having the pace we had in the heats meant we couldn’t really go further up the field but was good racing by everyone in rotax we were on pace and had a good start running third until there was a incident and the vsk (virtual safety kart) came out and the restart was chaotic with a lot of the field getting pushbacks there was 6 laps to go and everyone was fighting hard to get a good finish in for the final, the last lap came by and I was running third there was a lead change on the second to last corner and I knew if I didn’t go for the pass for second I would regret it, so I sent it, it was a clean pass with minimal contact but the officials thought otherwise giving me a relegation behind the person I passed he finished 4th on track but little did I know at the time he had a push back so I dropped right back down to 7th.

Overall it was a Cool weekend, cool track, cool people and good racing and I am really looking forward to the last round in Rotorua!
